  • There was only one contested race for library trustees and that involved three people vying for two seats on the Harrisburg Public Library District board.
    Harrisburg Library
    Jose Durbin — a Harrisburg High School senior — challenged incumbent trustees Sarah “Sally” Wofford and Janet K. Jones, but was unsuccessful.
    Durbin received only 550 votes, 17 percent; Wofford received 1,220 votes, 39 percent; and Jones received 1,310 votes, 42 percent.
    Carrier Mills Library
    For Carrier MIlls-Stonefort Public Library District Trustee six-year terms Jennifer L. O’Neal received 165 votes, 26 percent; Teneka R. Betz received 256 votes, 41 percent; and Carleen M. Sanderson received 203 votes, 32 percent.
    Karen S. Shawn ran unopposed for unexpired two-year term trustee receiving 230 votes, 100 percent.
    Eldorado
    Three candidates ran for the three available six-year term seats on the Eldorado Memorial Public Library District board of trustees: Susan L. Justice with 901 votes, 43 percent; Jeff Campbell with 705 votes, 34 percent; and Robert E. Barker with 463 votes, 22 percent.
    Walter Baker ran unopposed for the four-year unexpired four-year term seat receiving 757 votes, 100 percent.
    Galatia
    There were two candidates for the two six-year term trustees of the Galatia Public Library District: Judith L. Hunter with 172 votes, 41 percent; and Marilyn Kay Jackson with 241 votes, 58 percent.
    Suzanne M. Eaton ran unopposed for the unexpired four-year term trustee for the library with 244 votes, 100 percent.
    Linda S. Mays ran unopposed for the library’s two-year unexpired trustee term with 236 votes, 100 percent.
