Lowell E. “Eddie” Golliher, age 76, a resident of Plainfield since 1950, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Joliet.
He was born May 1, 1936, in Harrisburg.
He was the beloved husband of Mildred Golliher (nee Wren), whom he married June 18, 1957; loving father of Susan Jennings of Plainfield, Jamie (Harry) Bray of California, Keith Golliher of Texas and Catherine Kellogg of Waukegan; adored grandfather of Wade (Jessica) Jennings and Brittany and Kameron Bray; cherished great-grandfather of Brady, Sidney and Briley Jennings; devoted son of the late Otto and Stella Golliher; dear brother of Philip (the late Jane) Golliher of Channahon; brother-in-law of Mary (the late Mike) Sanchez of Waukegan; and fond uncle of many.
Lowell was a 1954 graduate of Plainfield High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 through 1957. He was employed by Railoc Co., Plainfield from 1957 through 1982. Lowell was an active member of the Shorewood Church of God and was a volunteer in the Pastoral Department at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Memorial visitation is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, at the Shorewood Church of God, 203 School Road, Shorewood, Ill. 60404, (815) 729-1116
A Memorial Service will follow Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. in the church with the Rev. Eric Livingston officiating.
Inurnment with military honors Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
