Eldorado dropped a tough luck loss to Marion Wednesday at the Eldorado Sports Complex, falling 5-3 to the South Seven Wildcats.
The Eagles were able to score three runs, despite just having four hits on the day as Jordan Pilkington drove in two, while Stanton Hathaway drove in the other.
Adam Collier had two hits and scored a run, while Dakota Prather and Tyler Deaton had the other two hits. Stanton Hathaway and Garrison Hathaway scored the other two runs for the Eagles.
Marion scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning and Eldorado responded with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. The Eagles then cut the deficit to one-run with a run in the bottom of the sixth. Marion tacked on the insurance run they needed in the top of the seventh.
Bradon Van Zant picked up the loss, going four-plus innings and giving up six runs and four runs, while striking out one and walking four.
Adam Collier came in for two innings of relief work. Collier gave up a hit, a run and walked one.
Gallatin County 5, Crab Orchard 0
Gallatin County traveled to Crab Orchard on Tuesday for a GEC conference match up and got away with a 5-0 win.
Wes McGuire pitched all seven innings for the win, striking out 17 and allowing only three hits, he is now 4-0 on the season.
The Hawks plated two runs in the fourth, one coming on a Daine Hish home run.
The Hawks followed up with two runs in the sixth, one coming off a Wes McGuire home run and they tacked on a single run in the 7th to cap their scoring.
The Hawks move to 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in the GEC.
