The Saline County Soil and Water Conservation Fish Sale took place at the SWCD office located at 912 Commercial St., Harrisburg.
A truck from Fountain Bluff Fish Farm in Gorham delivered pre-ordered fish in both bags and buckets for farmers and pond managers to stock their ponds.
Ray Henderson, Stonefort, received a bag containing three grass carp for his one acre farm pond. He also picked up 250 redear, 12 albino catfish and 24 channel catfish.
The sale is a public service to farmers and land owners as the district only makes a few pennies on every fish, according to the SWCD. There is a sale each April and October.
