  • On Wednesday, April 3, 2013, the Shawnee National Forest will offer a Roving Ranger Program. The theme of the event will be “Understanding the Greenhouse Effect.”
Activities will take place at the Amax Shelter, located at the Harrisburg Memorial Park, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Kids will learn why without the greenhouse effect, there would be no life on earth. Often a misunderstood concept, this subject surrounds much debate. The Forest Service asks parents to plan to attend this program as information and activities will go beyond the hype and will help attendees better understand the mechanics of this very important phenomenon, according to a release from the Forest Service.
The Forest Service describes the event as a fun, hands on, fact-based activity from which attendees may draw their own conclusions.
