Governor Pat Quinn Thursday announced more than $386,000 to replace roofs at the Dixon Springs Boot Camp in Pope County as part of his Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program.
“Investment in capital projects is one of the best ways to grow our economy and create jobs,” Governor Quinn said in a prepared release from the governor’s office. “The Illinois Jobs Now! project announced today will help us continue to ensure Illinois has a strong, 21st century infrastructure while creating jobs and boosting local economies.”
Joiner Sheet Metal & Roofing, Inc. of Greenville was the lowest of four bidders for the work with their quote of $386,600. The project includes removing and replacing about 24,000 square feet of roofing materials and accessories, including flashings and gutters. Work will start in April with completion by November 2013.
Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! is supporting more than 439,000 jobs over six years. It the largest capital construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest capital construction programs in the nation, according to the release.
