The car I drive has enough miles on it the radio only plays cassette tapes. Whose music gets slipped in the slot? For a long time my sole musical accompaniment when driving was Bach.
Especially when driving the back roads.
Bach and Somerset have a way complimenting each other.
These days, Duke Ellington is center stage on the dashboard, and that’s because at a thrift store I was able to pick up a matching set of “The Musical Genius of Duke Ellington” for only a dollar, plus tax.
As for Bach, he remains on the front seat, wedged between Springhouse and the camera. If my taste for jazz fizzles, the genius with the powdered wig will be there with his harpsichord.
A harpsichord compliments Herod, though the latter is known for fiddle and guitar.
Does anybody else play the plastic rectangles that rattle when shook? From one who does, let the word go forth cassette tapes sound as good now as ever.
