  • Prep Soccer: Bulldogs post a pair of shut outs

  • The Harrisburg High School girls' soccer team picked up a couple of wins in recent action.
    On Saturday, the Bulldogs shut out Salem 6-0 and prior to that knocked Centralia 5-0.
    In the win against Centralia, Kelsey Hobbs scored a pair of quick goals, one coming at the 6:44 mark and another at the 16:46 point. Her second goal came compliments off a assist from Taylor McDaniel.
    McDaniel then scored the next two goals for Harrisburg, while Jordan Stewart scored the last goal.
    Alexis Bishop had five saves in goal for Harrisburg, posting her second shutout of the season. The Bulldogs put up 31 shots on goal against Centralia.
    The Harrisburg junior varsity team also won 2-0.
    On Saturday, Lillee Robinson had a pair of goals, as did McDaniel. Saylin Thurston also had a goal for the Bulldogs.
    Four of the six assists came from Jordan, while Bishop recorded her third shutout of the year in goal for the Bulldogs.
    The Bulldogs will travel to Cape Central High School in Missouri on Thursday for a 4:30 p.m. game.
