The Harrisburg City Council met for about an hour Thursday for fairly routine actions.
The Council awarded bids for Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity-funded street projects, gave authorization to advertise for bids for Illinois Department of Transportation-funded street repairs and Locust Street improvement and approved an engineering agreement resolution for the Wilmoth Street pumping station.
Commissioner Ron Crank reported that after paying current Operation Storm Bills there is $13,400 left in the city’s tornado relief fund.
Commissioner John McPeek asked that authorization for Spring Clean Up, April 1 through April 12 be approved. The dumpster will be at the water and sewer department building at Veterans Drive. It passed unanimously.
Mayor Eric Gregg said, "We are trying to be proactive in regards to building the city.
We know that money is tight everywhere and we are trying to do the best we can with what we have."
