  • Prep Baseball: Gallatin County stays perfect with win over NCOE

  • Gallatin County hosted NCOE in a GEC conference game on Tuesday, with the Hawks outlasting the Cardinals 7-2. 
    Wes McGuire pitched six strong innings to pick up the win and Tyler Crayne threw an inning of solid relief. 
    The Hawks were led at the plate by Austin Russell (2-2), Marcus Wargel (2-3 2 RBIs) and Zach McGuire (1-2 2 RBIs). On the day, Gallatin County finished with nine hits, while limiting the Cardinals to four.
    Gallatin County didn't strike until the fourth inning when the Hawks put up three runs. Gallatin County then added four more runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning.
    Gallatin moves to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in the GEC. 
    Gallatin was set to play Galatia today (Thursday), but that game has been cancelled.  the Hawks will next play on Friday at Massac County.
