  • Club member Jack Norman of Phoenix, Arizona, uses his standard squeeze-type bar clamps as spreader clamps by fitting a small wood block at the end of the bar. So the block stays put, he chisels a small mortise in it for the end of the bar. To use the clamp, he braces the block and the movable jaw inside the work.
