Jackie Dean Irwin, age 80, a resident of Harrisburg passed away Tuesday Feb. 26, 2013, in Fountainview Nursing Home.
Jackie was born on Aug. 22, 1932, in Saline County to the late Roy C. and Beulah McDowell Irwin. He was a coal miner for Sahara Coal. On June 15, 1958, he married Donna Barger and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers, Joe Bob (Janet) Irwin of Harrisburg and Frank Irwin of Eldorado; four nieces, Julie (Brian) Beal of Harrisburg, Tracy (Tom) Dunaway of Eldorado, Anita (Martin) Lowery of Kentucky and Linda (Tom) Beanblossom of Lawrenceville; two nephews, John Curry of Lawrenceville and Keith Oakley of Paducah, Ky.; several great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Judy Stricklin, Dorothy Boyd and Lucille Shaffer; sister-in-law, Patty Irwin; brother-in-law, Jim Stricklin; and three nephews Jim Stricklin, Jeff Irwin and David Stricklin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Buddy Sork will officiate. Burial will follow in Pierson Cemetery.
