A friend who does an online show from his home told me the other day me he didn't know whether there were two listeners or 15 million. Being the kind of guy he is, he took it the right way when I said the first figure more likely. He agreed, adding he really didn't want to know the number.
The same goes here. Yes, I would be pleased to know these words reach lots of people, but would also be content with a dozen thoughtful readers. The problem is, however, keeping the possible number of readers in mind detracts from the work at hand, which is to fashion a few words into text that is both meaningful and entertaining to the one doing the writing. (If something registers with me in a positive way, there's a good chance it will so register with you, and since I can't see you I have to rely on me.)
It is my hope you enjoy the text, as well as the, sometimes, puzzling photographs.
Even if you don't, there's always next time.
