  • The Carrier Mills Village Board on Feb. 12 announced a fundraiser for firefighter Steve Wilson whose wife, Jennifer, passed away Thursday morning.
The fundraiser will be a spaghetti dinner sponsored by the Fire Department and the United Methodist Church and will be held 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall, according to Mayor Louis Shaw.
The board authorized the village attorney to negotiate the dismissal of legal action concerning the Hutson building on the corner of US. 45 and Main Street once the site has been satisfactorily cleaned of debris.
Trustees sold the lot at the corner of Pyle and Russell street to Julie Johnson for $2,200 and agreed to purchase the lots on Oak street owned by Carol Wheeler, provided a satisfactory price is negotiated.
The board approved a mobile home application of Vicki Van Dyke.
The board contracted Roy Adams Services to submit the mobility improvement grant to the State of Illinois; residents interested in applying for grant money should either contact the Water Office at 618-994-2205 or come by the office for an application form.
