Hospice Dream is a non-profit organization that makes the dreams of hospice clients come true.
They recently chose to send Ken McNeil, 75, a retired coal miner to the Grand Old Opry in Nashville Friday.
McNeil is a life-long country music fan but he had never been to the Grand Old Opry. Enter Hospice Dream. They funded the trip, provided the van and accommodations for Friday night and returned McNeil to his Eldorado home at noon on Saturday.
"I liked Johnny Cash and Josh Turner is the nearest thing to him right now," said McNeil.
He is under the care of Hospice Passages in Carbondale. McNeil worked for 22 years at Peabody's Eagle No. 2 Mine.
