Johnny Tarlton Sr., of Harrisburg in the Rudement community passed away 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 12, 1944, in Harrisburg the son of Virgil and Rachel Followell Tarlton. Johnny was a retired railroad and pipeline worker. He was a member of Spring Valley Social Brethren Church.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny Tarlton Jr. of Harrisburg, Tony Tarlton and Max Tarlton, both of Mt. Carmel; four daughters, Sandra Johnson of Fairfield, Sherry Denton of Harrisburg, Tammy Boone of Gallatin, Tenn., and Tabitha McClure of North Dakota; two brothers, Ray Tarlton of McLeansboro and Herb Tarlton of Harrisburg; two sisters, Bonnie Graham of Arkansas, Betty Mattingly of Eldorado; 32 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kay Duncan and Alberta Tarlton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home with burial in Spring Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the J.M.
