The Harrisburg Tornado Memorial stone is set for installation Feb. 16 on property of the Old National Bank branch on Rollie Moore drive.
Thursday morning Mike Berry Jr. was smoothing and shaping the concrete walkway that will lead to the monument being erected to honor those who died in the Leap Day Tornado.
Berry works for Roger Angelly Trucking and Excavating who donated his labor.
The concrete was donated by Barnett Ready Mix.
The monument will stand on the south side of the Old National Bank building at 719 Rollie Moore Drive off S. Commercial St. in Harrisburg. The carved stone monument is currently in the hands of J.W. Reynolds Monument Company in Vienna and should be ready for public viewing Feb. 16, according to Fire Chief Bill Summers.
