William J. “Bill” Brandsasse Sr., 78, passed away at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Bill was born April 21, 1934, in Evansville, Ind., to the late Bernard Henry and Catherine A. (Head) Brandsasse. He married the former Nelda M. Alvers who survives. In 1972 Bill was a Cub Scout Master in Eldorado. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Bill is survived by four sons, William J. Brandsasse Jr. of Eldorado, Stephen W. (Kay) Brandsasse of Eldorado, Michael R. Brandsasse of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Jeffery Scott Brandsasse of Decatur; four daughters, Teresa Marie (Mike) Davis of Marion, Angela Rose (Lloyd) Jones of Eldorado, Linda Fay (Jeff) Stovall of Harrisburg, Marilyn (Vince) Ragan of McLeansboro; three brothers, Bernard G. Brandsasse of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Charles Leon Brandsasse of Evansville, Ind., Jerome L. Brandsasse of Mt. Vernon, Ind.; five sisters, Peggy L. Koester of Evansville, Ind., Linda G. Elpers of Haubstat, Ind., Angela K. Scheller of Evansville, Ind., Donna R. Bonebreak of Mokena, S. Joann Deitz of Evansville, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in a death by a grandson Stephen Brandsasse. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday Feb. 1, 2013, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Bro. Joe L. Poirot officiating. Burial will be in Rhine Cemetery in Raleigh. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
