  • Matthew Titus Scott, 37, of Anna, formerly of Eldorado, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.

  • Matthew Titus Scott, 37, of Anna, formerly of Eldorado, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.
    He was born in Muskogee, Okla., to Howard and Linda (Clark) Scott. He was a member of the Cave-In-Rock Christian Church, The Boy Scouts and was an active member in the Special Olympics. He worked at the J.R. Center in Anna.
    The family wishes to acknowledge the love and support of the Eldorado First Christian Church during the early years of Matt's life. And to the First Christian Church of Cave-In-Rock in loving him in so many ways during his teenage years.
    Matt loved church and being a part of two congregations allowed him to grow and learn about his savior Jesus. The family also extends great appreciation in the 15 years of care provided by the staff of the Clyde Choate Developmental center in Anna and to the staff of the Saline Care Center and Hospice of Southern Illinois for all of the gracious help.
    Besides his parents Matt is survived by a brother Timothy T. (Rowena) Scott and their children, Isamu, Akiko and Joshua Daniel all of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are aunts and uncles Charles and Karen Scott, Larry and Judy Glasco, Doug and Susie Cage and Tim and Sandra Humphreys. Also surviving are many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Harvey and Silvia Scott and his maternal grandparents James and Betty Clark. And he was preceded in death by an uncle, Harvey L. Scott.
    Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 29, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home with Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics in his memory and left at the funeral home.
