Betty J. Neal, 80, 3720 Massey Road, Eldorado, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Ferrell Hospital.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Dennis Robison officiating. Burial will be the Lindale Cemetery.
She was born June 6, 1932, in Sturgis, Ky., to Robert H. Koker and Lydia M. She and her family moved Eldorado in 1939. On July 8, , she married John W. Neal from Eldorado.
She and "Johnnie" moved to East Gary, Ind., where they resided for 40 years and raised their family. They enjoyed spending time together while participating in numerous bowling leagues over the years while living "up north."
She was a trusted friend to her numerous Spanish speaking neighbors. She spent many years as a volunteer member and officer of several PTA and other school committees. She worked for several years, outside the home, for Faircraft Engineering, a suitcase and briefcase manufacturer, in Portage, Ind.
After moving back home in the mid-1980's, she was a member of the Egyptian Shrine Ladies Club of Harrisburg and Eastern Star of Raleigh for many years.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend to all who knew her and will be missed and thought about fondly for many years to come. She is now in Heaven among the Angels watching over us. We love you mom and you will always be with us in our hearts. One day we will all be together again.
She is survived by two sons, Richard L. "Rick" (Sharon) Neal of Novi, Mich., and John W. "Bill" (Lynn) Neal Jr. of Eldorado; two grandsons, Shawn and Jason Neal; six stepgrandchildren, Kimberly Mowbray, Michelle Froehlich, Lori Flores, Angela Coleman, Daniel (Amy) Robinson and Bonnie Robinson; one great-grandson, Tyler Warner; 9 great-stepgrandchildren, Pierce Mowbray, Jenna Froehlich, Luke Froehlich, Dominic Flores, Damian Flores, Travis Coleman, Megan Coleman, Trey Robinson and Hunter Robinson.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Johnnie; three sisters, Viola, Freda and Velma; two brothers, John Robert and Billie Ray; and one very special niece, Barbara Kay.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lindale Cemetery and left at the funeral home.
