A week ago, the Eagles played Vienna in a contest where the opposition hurt Eldorado in transition.
Fast forward a week later and Josh Bradley's ballclub made all the necessary adjustments and more.
Eldorado (16-3) put four players in double figures, knocking off Vienna 66-55 in the early game of the Lady Eagle Winter Classic Thursday night at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium.
"I thought we came out really poised early," said Bradley after his team opened the first quarter with a 16-6 lead.
"Tonight we did a much better job of getting back and forcing the ball up the sideline."
Ashton Unthank and Kourtney Phillips led all scorers with 15 points a piece, while Paige Zertuche scored 11 and Taylor Goodley tacked on 10 in the win.
Despite being outscored 19-13 in the second quarter, Eldorado took a 29-25 lead into the locker room and went back on their scoring rampage in the third quarter, outscoring Vienna 17-4.
"I thought we really got good performances from our top six girls," Bradley said. "We had four girls, Phillips, Unthank, Zertuche and Goodley all in double figures with Eric Graczyk and Jacquelyn Artman not far behind."
Artman added eight for Eldorado, while Graczyk chipped in with seven. The duo also led the Eagles in rebounding as Artman hauled in seven board, five on the offensive end and Graczyk had six.
"Artman and Graczyk have been doing a really good job on the offensive glass," Bradley added. "Now we have a very tough task ahead of us playing Goreville to get to the championship game of our tournament."
That game will be tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m. Other games include Gallatin County and Fairfield at 4 p.m., followed by Mt. Carmel and Harrisburg at 5:30 p.m. Following the Eldorado game, Pope County will play Carmi-White County at 8:30 p.m.
