Wanda Louise Furlong Prather, 83, of Eldorado, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
She was born on Oct. 25, 1929, in Harrisburg to the late George and Bessie (Banks) Fulkerson. She married Luther Furlong and he preceded her in death. She later married Lowell “Cub” Prather and he preceded her in death. She then married Bob Wise and he survives. She was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church and a member of the Rebeka’s Lodge of Carbondale. She was a retired bookkeeper.
Surviving family members include her husband, Bob Wise, Harrisburg; son, Steve Furlong and Rene Voss, Eldorado; daughter-in-law, Marie Furlong of Christopher; son, Mark Furlong of Cullman, Ala.; three stepdaughters, Kathy Reed of Harrisburg, Shannon Stacey of West Frankfort and Karen Hunt of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren, Jason Furlong of West Frankfort, Chad Smith of Ziegler, Dawn Furlong Rampart of Carrier Mills, Luke Furlong of Carrier Mills, Logan Furlong of Cullman, Ala., Chris Furlong of Orlando, Fla., and Jaime Furlong of Cullman, Ala.; 14 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Randall Fulkerson of Harrisburg, Don Fulkerson of Galatia, Larry Fulkerson of Harrisburg and Kenneth Fulkerson of Karbers Ridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Luther Furlong and Lowell “Cub” Prather; great-granddaughter, Selena Marie Hagarman and daughter-in-law, Terry Furlong.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
