John C. “Jack” LaFlamme, 78, of Haymarket, Va., passed away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas, Va.
Jack was born in LaSalle, on June 30, 1934, to the late Joseph and Frances (Draper) LaFlamme. He married the former Dorothy “Sue” Quick who survives. He graduated The University of Illinois in 1957. Jack attended the Haymarket Baptist Church. He was employed by the Library of Congress, the State of Illinois and retired as an Intelligence Officer for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Jack enjoyed carving ducks, fishing and mostly spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Sue, he is survived by three daughters, Leslie (the Rev. Steven) Schneider, Santiago, Chile, Julie (Mark) Johnston, Leesburg, Va., Jacqueline “Jackie” (Wallace) Johnson, Manassas, Va.; a sister, Joan (Dale) Fleming of Wheaton; grandchildren, Alison Schneider and Stephanie Schneider of Los Angeles, Calif., and Brittany Johnston and Ashley Johnston of Leesburg, Va.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday Jan. 19, 2013, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Carroll Collins and the Rev. Steven Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery near Eldorado. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday to service time at the funeral home.
