“I’m excited!” Kyllah Glass says about her upcoming journey to Chicago to audition for the America’s Got Talent reality television show. Kyllah and her mother Jennifer Glass will travel to Chicago on the weekend of Jan. 25, where she will audition on Saturday Jan. 26.
Kyllah performed at the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Middle School Veterans Day program last November, singing “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. Her mother made a video of her performance and Kyllah submitted this video to the show. As a result, Kyllah was invited to audition this month.
“Kyllah has sung pretty much all her life.” says her mother, Jennifer adding, “I’m completely nervous about this!”
Kyllah lives in Carrier Mills and is a member of the Carrier Mills Stonefort Eighth Grade Choir. She also sings on the Youth Praise and Worship Team at her church, Eldorado Church of God in Eldorado. Kyllah has chosen “Hallelujah” as her main song and “At Last” by Etta James as her back-up song saying of “Hallelujah,” “It’s a good song.”
Kylla is 13 years old and is the only girl in a family of boys. Her brothers, Avery, Joey, Elijah and Zayden are all happy for her to have this experience. “It’s exciting” said her older brother Avery, “I’m glad she got this chance.”
“I’m glad she’s going!” said Joey, one of her three younger brothers.
“I’m excited. I want to see her on TV,” Elijah, another of her younger brothers said of the adventure.
Kyllah plans to attend college after high school and study for a career as an ultra-sound technician. She also plans to participate in the field of Christian Music. When asked how she felt about singing she smiled and said, “I like it!”
Kyllah’s mother Jennifer asked that anyone wishing to contribute to expenses for the trip should contact her by E-mail at email@example.com, adding that she would be “extremely grateful” for any donations.
