The Harrisburg High School boys' bowling team contented their tailspin with a 2831-2821 loss at home to Carbondale Wednesday at Ross-Cottom lanes.
CJ Murphy was solid with a 676 series and Braxton Keasler posted a 600 to support him.
Harrisburg head coach Doug Cottom said the 2850 average the Bulldogs bowl every match is just to low to compete and with just a week and a half until sectional play, he believes time is running out.
"We we just simply don't do the little things right to take our score on up the ladder."
The Harrisburg girls also fell as well, losing 2620-2588.
Brittany Hardin played nicely in the lead off spot with a 530 for the Bulldogs.
"The girls also have to realize that 2600 is going nowhere at the sectionals in about a month. We need to be consistently at 2800 to make it out of there. The potential is there for sure."
Over the weekend, Harrisburg finished 17th out of 42 teams at the O'Fallon Invitational.
Harrisburg will host Johnston City tonight (Thursday) at Ross-Cottom Lanes.
