Scott Stout, executive director of Saline Care Center in Harrisburg, said Friday that extensive remodeling of 30 rooms and the addition of a new nursing station plus a spa has just been completed.
The nursing home has a total of 142 beds. Seventy of the beds are in side two, which is dedicated to the mentally ill and dementia patients. Side 1 has 72 skilled beds for intermediate care of patients.
Another remodeling of the facility was completed in 2012, mostly on side one.
The current project added a whirlpool tub and spa. Thirty rooms were upgraded with new wallpaper, carpet and furniture.
The home is managed by RDK Management which is owned by Dr. Roger D. Herrin and Dr. Larry Jones. RDK management has owned the nursing home since 1985.
It manages two other facilities, Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carrier Mills and Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton.
Saline Care employs 130 people.
