  • Boys Basketball: Gallatin County gets by Galatia

  • Gallatin County came into the Eldorado Holiday Tournament flexing its muscles of holding the No. 2 overall seed and showed their strength in an 80-24 beating of Galatia Friday night.
    Andrew Drone scored 33 points for the Hawks who eased past Galatia, setting up a date with Anna-Jonesboro Saturday night.
    Gallatin County opened the game with a 23-6 first quarter showing by shooting 10-of-17 from the field as Drone and Josh Belford each scored six points a piece.
    Belford finished in double figures, scoring 15 points, while Patrick Lowe came off the bench to throw in 12 points.
    Tyler Slone led the Bearcats with eight points.
    Gallatin County continued the onslaught outscoring Galatia 22-8 in the second quarter to lead 46-14 at halftime.
