The Dec. 26 snowstorm started after midnight Christmas day. Shovel sales have been brisk since then and the following stores had a few in stock as of Thursday afternoon:
Durham’s Hardware, Harrisburg — four shovels in stock
Rural King, Harrisburg — 30 shovels
Murphy’s Do-It Center, Harrisburg — one collapsable shovel and four Smart Car shovels for automobiles
Walmart, Harrisburg — sold out of standard shovels, but the store had 30 smaller shovels
O’Keefe’s Lumber, Carrier Mills — four shovels
Miller’s Army Surplus, Carrier Mills — no shovels but they do have boots
All the stores have good supplies of ice melt products. Disc sleds are generally selling out. Durham’s Hardware and Murphy’s Do-It Center had sold their last sleds by closing time. Durham’s expected to be resupplied Tuesday, according to an employee.
