Alice Sutton Berry, 87, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at the Ridgway Manor Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born to the late Frank and Lila Sutton on Dec. 20, 1925. On Sept. 15, 1946, she married OL Berry and he preceded her in death on Dec. 15, 2005.
She was a Social Studies and Illinois History teacher at Malan Junior High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eldorado where she taught couples Sunday School class for over 60 years. She was also a member of United Methodist Women, DAR and the genealogical society.
Alice is survived by three sons, David (Diane) Berry of Highland, Chris (Lisa) Berry of Harrisburg and Scott Berry of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Chrystal (Stephen) Graham of Millington, Tenn., Justin Berry of Highland, Morgan, Mitchell and Molly Berry of Harrisburg; two great-grandchildren Mason and Noah Graham and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Norman (Vertia) Sutton of Eldorado.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Eldorado. The Rev. John Cross will officiate and burial will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church and envelopes will be available at the church.
