  • A WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST TONIGHT.* GUSTY WINDS WILL SPREAD EASTWARD ACROSS SOUTHWEST INDIANA AND THE PENNYRILE REGION OF WEST KENTUCKY THROUGH NOON. THE GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE AREA THROUGH THE AFTERNOON AND THEN DIMINISH SOMEWHAT FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST THROUGH THE EVENING.* WEST WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO BE SUSTAINED AT 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS 40 TO 55 MPH AT TIMES.* WINDS THIS STRONG CAN PRODUCE SOME MINOR DAMAGE...INCLUDING BLOWING DOWN LARGE TREE LIMBS AND BLOWING OFF A SOME SHINGLES. DRIVING WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES ON NORTH TO SOUTH ORIENTED HIGHWAYS...SUCH AS INTERSTATES 55...57 AND 24...AND THE PENNYRILE AND GREEN RIVER PARKWAYS. IN ADDITION...OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND ANY OTHER UNSECURED OUTDOOR OBJECTS WILL BE BLOWN AROUND BY THE STRONG WINDS. BOATING ON AREA LAKES IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...A WIND ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SUSTAINED WINDS ARE EXPECTED TOREACH 30 MPH OR GREATER FOR LONGER THAN ONE HOUR...OR WIND GUSTSARE EXPECTED TO REACH 45 MPH FOR ANY DURATION.
