Ruby Terah Ashby, 84, of 901 Lincoln Street, Eldorado, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Eldorado on Jan. 6, 1928, to the late Riley and Thresa (Forrester) Harrelson. She worked as a retail clerk for many years at the Ben Franklin in downtown Eldorado. On Sept. 20, 1947, she married J. Gilbert Ashby and he preceded her in death on June 15, 2002.
Surviving is a son, Bert and (Letha) Ashby of Eldorado; three daughters, Brenda (Sean) McNeely of Kettle Falls, Wash., Ella Ashby of Harrisburg and Bonnie (Monte) Newman of Eldorado; seven grandchildren, Rein McNeely, Staci (Matthew) Rice, Pamela (Brent) Church, Melissa (Robbie) Sturgill, Whitney Ashby, Jonathan Shaw and Terah (Brian) Grisham; 12 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Dylan Rice, Taylor and Ashley Church, Austin, Jaxon and Grayson Sturgill, Alex Stevens, Michael and Justin Shaw, Keaton Baird and Ayden Grisham.
She was preceded in death by a son Lee Watson, a brother Bertis Harrelson and two sisters Pearl Harrleson and Cybol Patton.
As per Ruby’s request there will be a private family graveside service on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at the Cottage Grove Cemetery.
