This forecast analysis covers far southern Illinois, southeast Missouri, southwest Indiana, western Kentucky, and northwest Tennessee
HEADLINES: After a few days of quiet weather it appears we will see a new storm system approach the region on Friday night and Saturday. This system will spread showers and thunderstorms back into the area - especially on Saturday.
It appears there won't be sufficient instability for severe thunderstorms. If the instability forecast were to change then it would likely be over our southern counties. I will monitor and update. The main concern would be gusty winds with the heavier thunderstorms.
The rain will come to an end by Saturday night. Rainfall totals should be in the 0.30"-0.60" range. We need the rain.
Another small chance of rain will arrive on Sunday night.
No significant snowstorms are being tracked in the short and medium range package. I will continue to monitor a system around Christmas. Too soon to make an actual forecast on that event.
