  • Wanda L. Healy Pankey passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado.
    Wanda Lee Mallady was born on Sept. 4, 1925, in Brushy Township, Saline County, as the only child of Edgar Ellis and Maude Mae (Graves) Mallady. She attended Neal School for the first eight grades and graduated from Harrisburg Township High School in 1943. She worked at Harrisburg Hospital, several years for Saline County Sheriff's Department and Saline County Tax Assessor's Office. Wanda was a member of North America Baptist Church and later Land Street Church of God.
    Wanda married Bernard C. Healy of Nov. 28 1946. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1985. On May 27, 1989, she married Lloyd Pankey and he survives her.
    Other survivors are son, Curtis L. (Sarajo) Healy of Eldorado; daughters, Linda S. (Gary) Kolb of Mt. Carmel and Karen K. (Kenny) Vogel of Phoenix, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Natalie D. Williams and friend Dustin Cook of Galatia and Vanessa M. Vogel of Phoenix, Ariz.; great-grandson, Kaleb D. Williams of Eldorado; stepdaughters, Margaret (Robert) Camden of Clinton, Mo., and Bernice (James) Sponsler of Princeville; stepsons, Lloyd Pankey Jr. of Missouri and Charles Wayne Pankey of Bolton, Mo.; several stepgrandchildren; and several great-stepgrandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Bernard; granddaughter, Susan B. Healy; stepdaughter, Sue Brimberry; and stepdaughter-in-law, Sandy Pankey.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Paul Taylor will officiate, burial will follow in North America Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
    In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Star General Baptist Church Building Fund, Alzheimer's Disease Research or Land Street Church of God.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
