Gilbert Lee Justice, 81, 915 College Drive, Eldorado, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at his residence.
He was born in Lafayette, Ind., May 4, 1931, to the late Clyde and Aileen (Watson) Justice. He married the former Bonnie Lewis and she preceded him in death Sept. 22, 2000. He served in and retired from the Air Force for 23 years. He was a member of the Eldorado American Legion Post 169.
He is survived by a son, Dale R. (Kim) Justice of West Frankfort and two daughters, Linda G. (John) Matthews of Harrisburg and Carey L. (Anthony) Fields of Milwaukee, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Brandon Justice, Lindsey Abell, Brittney Justice, Ivan Matthews, Conner Fields, Rhyes Fields and Simon Fields; and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, James Justice and sister Patricia Justice of Lancaster, Penn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Justice, in 1957.
Graveside services will be held at Wolf Creek Cemetery 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, with the Rev. Art Watson officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
