The Third Annual Bulldog Invitational will be held on Saturday at Ross Cottom Lanes getting underway at 1 p.m.
Participating schools will include O'Fallon, Collinsville, Belleville East, Belleville West, Alton, Cahokia, Centralia, Salem, Mt. Vernon, Carbondale, Herrin and Harrisburg.
"This tournament has evolved into the premier boys tournament in the south part of the state in just three short years mainly because of the strength of the field," HHS head coach Doug Cottom said. "There are 12 solid programs represented, however the winner should come from one of five teams; Salem, O'Fallon, Centralia, Belleville West or Herrin. All 5 of those are especially strong this year and it should be an interesting day."
Cottom said there will be six games with no breaks so stamina plays a part and encourages the local community to come out and support the host Bulldogs.
"I would love to see local people out there, I think it would make for a great atmosphere."
