Dorothy Nell Hughey, 83, of Eldorado passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Sunny Acres Home in Petersburg.
Dorothy was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Marion, Ky., to the late Cecil H. and Jewel (Martin) Gill. Dorothy married Ambrose Phillip Hughey who preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1987. Prior to retirement Dorothy worked as an LPN at The Murray Center. She was a member of the Eldorado First Presbyterian Church where she was one of the first to start the quilters guild. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution.
Dorothy is survived by four daughters, Phyllis (Gary) Hargis of Texas, Deborah (David) Love of Petersburg, Natasha Lynn (David) Lies of Highlands Ranch, Co., Karen (Richard) Friesen of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Donald (Marie) Gill of Fort Meyers, Fla.; two sisters, Martha Russell and Shirley Byford both of Evansville; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Ambrose Robert Hughey and Stephen Michael Hughey; and a brother, Kenneth Gill. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Walter Baker officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation is Friday 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
