Prep Boys' Hoops: Bearcats fall in season opener at Grayville Tournament

The Galatia boys' basketball team were knocked off by Edwards County 66-39 Monday night at the Grayville Tournament.

Bodie Beckman scored 12 points for the Bearcats, leading the way on 3-of-10 shooting from the field and making 6-of-7 free throws to go along with two three-pointers.

Zane Stanley had nine points for Galatia (0-1), while Adam Brothers added eight points. Michael Mondino chipped in with six points, while Tyler Slone finished with three points and Hayden Mitchell added a free throw.

As a team, Galatia shot 12-of-35 from the field and finished 13-of-20 at the free throw line.

Karlin Compton put up a team-high 10 points for Edwards County, who finished 28-of-55 from the field and 7-of-19 from the free throw line.
