Rudolph Morgan, 89, longtime resident of Oak Park, formally of Eldorado, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at the Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Rudolph was born in Eldorado Jan. 5, 1923, to the late Seth and Etta (Hodge) Morgan. He was a 1941 graduate of Eldorado Township High School. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge. He served in the Army from January 1943 to November 1945. During his time in WWII he served in France, Belgium and Germany. After serving his country he was employed at Hines V.A. Hospital for 30 years.
Rudolph is survived by nieces and nephews including Leonard Baldwin, Linda (Baldwin) Drone, Marietta (King) Briddick, Reggie Cook, Wesley Cook, Christina (Cook) Turlek, Thomas Cook, Randy Morgan, John Morgan, Michael Morgan, Marilyn (Morgan) Strutt, Charlotte (Morgan) McKee, Richard Morgan; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Green) Morgan, Catherine (Koval) Morgan; his great-nephew and caregiver for his final three years, Alan and wife Laura Baldwin of Downers Grove.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Freda Baldwin, Daisy King and Betty Jo Cook; five brothers, Randall, Frank, Noble, Vernon and Robert; and a nephew Halsie E. King.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Dennis Robison officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
