Betty J. Hopkins, 80, of 1213 Barton St., Eldorado, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the Harrisburg Medical Center.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1932, to the late William "Bill" and Pauline (Adams) Thompson. She was a homemaker.
She married Tom Hopkins in December of 1955 and he survives in Eldorado. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Church and a proud member of the "Barton Street Gang."
She is survived by two sons, Daryl and Jim Hopkins, both of Eldorado. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Clinton Hopkins in 1986. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Clinton and Jesse Hopkins and Allen Duer and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Richard "Bud" (Barbara) Thompson of Galatia, Henry (Alice) Thompson of Harco and Walter Thompson of Wood River. She is also survived by two sisters, Hazel (Joe) Morton of Cottage Hills and Delia (Othner) Jackson of Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by two daughters-in-law Elizabeth Hopkins in 2001 and Rachel Hopkins in 2001 and a brother Bill Thompson and a infant sister Luella Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Watson Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Johnson and the Rev. Keith Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the funeral home.
