Internet, drug safety are topics of Tuesday seminar

The Alliance Against Drug Abuse will hold a seminar regarding topics of Internet Safety, abuse of over-the-counter and prescription drugs and designer drugs 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Morello's Pizza and Grill.

Several scheduled speakers will educate the public on the issues.

Dr. Michael Blain M.D. will speak on the matter of prescription drugs and what he has seen in the community as far as abuse, addiction, and treatment.

Jason Kaiser will be there to answer any questions from a pharmaceutical side.

Lizz Cooley a health educator will speak on trends such as over-the-counter drugs - cough syrup, cold medications - and prescription drugs.

Christine Feller from the Illinois Attorney General's Office will be speaking on the topic of digital culture and Internet safety. Her presentation will help teachers and parents become more aware of children's activities online.

There will also be a substance abuse counselor from Gateway and a recovering youth to speak about his addiction on k2 and Bath Salts.

The seminar includes free food and admission.
