  • Barbara Cooper, 78, of Harrisburg, passed away 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

  • Barbara Cooper, 78, of Harrisburg, passed away 2:20 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
    She was born Dec. 30, 1933, in Herod, the daughter of Gilbert and Wanda Angelly Gibbs. She married Donald Cooper June 10, 1951, in Corinth, Miss., and he survives.
    Bobbi, as she was lovingly called, was a wonderful wife and homemaker, as well as a beloved music teacher. She attended Tate's Chapel Methodist Church, near Galatia, and Raleigh Methodist Church. From the time she was 9 years old, she was a regular pianist and organist at various churches in Saline County. She played at many revivals, weddings and other events.
    Survivors include her loving husband, Don of Harrisburg; and her son and the love of her life, Terry (Linda) Cooper of St. Louis, Mo.; three special half-brothers, Vic (Denia) Gibbs of Harrisburg, Cecil (Ann) Gibbs of Marion and Jess Gibbs of Harrisburg; and two stepgranddaughters, Lori Lampert and Michelle Lampert Maslin, who both adored her.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Webb Hilliard; her natural father, Gilbert Gibbs; and her adoptive father, Oral Webb.
    Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home with the Rev. John Cross and the Rev. Paul Brown officiating, followed by burial at Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at the funeral home.
