Dale E. "Peach" Kerner, 61, of Newton, IL passed away at 4:15 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services celebrating Dales' life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Blake-Buchanan in Newton, IL with Rev. Tim Pearce officiating. Burial will be in the Brockville Cemetery in rural Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2012 at the funeral home. Dale better known as "Peach" was born on June 26, 1951 in Ypsilanti, MI the son of Loren and Barbara (Dawson) Kerner. He married Karen Bilyew on October 28, 1972. Peach retired from CIPS Power Plant near Newton after many years of service. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton and former member of the Winterrowd Masonic Lodge #664 in Dieterich and had been a Shriner. Peach had been an avid coon hunter and enjoyed bowling and softball. Since his retirement he spent a lot of his time boating on the Ohio River at Golconda, IL.
Peach is survived by wife of 39 years, Karen Kerner of Newton; Mother and Step-Father, Barbara (Wayne) Barker of Louisville; three children, Chad (Deanna) Kerner of Arcola, Brent (Janet) Kerner of Effingham and Michelle (fiancé Greg Dedrick, Jr.) Monroe of Newton; six grandchildren, Coady Kerner, Jade Monroe, Caleb Kerner, Damien Pierce, Christina Kerner and Caden Kerner; brothers, Dean Kerner of Flora and Dennis (Louise) Kerner of Xenia.
Dale was preceded in death by his father Loren Dean Kerner.
