Marshel Lee Galleher, 64, Harrisburg, went to be with his Lord Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at his Harrisburg home.
Marshel was born in Harrisburg Friday, Nov. 13, 1947, son of the late Walter "Junior" Lee and Louise (Anderson) Galleher. He was an avid member of the FFA growing up. He was a farmer, a trucker and worked for Morris Excavating Services.
He was a man of many traits, but most of all he was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa. He was a great neighbor and family friend who will never be forgotten.
He was an avid member of the Raleigh Masonic Lodge No. 128 for 35 years. He loved to hunt and fish and to create memories that will always be imprinted in our hearts.
Marshel is survived by his wife, Sharon (Young) Galleher; two daughters, Lisa (Joey) Hinant of Harrisburg and Tammy (Bern) Carter of Galatia; a son, Jimmie (Melanie) Galleher of Newburgh, Ind.; a sister, Annette (Bill) Rodgers of Thompsonville; eight grandchildren, Caitlyn (Joe) Martinez, Brooklyn Hinant, Tenika Carter, Austin Hinant, Alicia Hinant, Tyler Galleher, Corrine Galleher and Abby Galleher; and two great-grandchildren.
Marshel was preceded in death by his parents, Walter "Junior" Lee and Louise (Anderson) Galleher.
Funeral services are noon Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Jimmy Dale Lambert officiating. Visitation is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Raleigh Masonic Cemetery with military rites at 7 p.m. by the Raleigh Masonic Lodge.
