  • Prep Volleyball: Eldorado starts week off with wins

  • Eagles knock off Christopher, Zeigler-Royalton; Carrier Mills beats Gallatin County

  • The Eldorado volleyball team knocked off Christopher 25-23 and 25-18 Monday night and then knocked off Zeigler-Royalton 25-22 and 25-18 Tuesday night.
    It was the second game out of four for the Eagles this week as they play at Vienna tonight (Wednesday) and will host Carmi-White County Thursday night.
    Against Christopher, Caitlin Burnett went 37-for-42 on sets and finished with five spikes, one kill and seven points.
    Kourtney Phillips had six spikes with one kill and 16 points with one ace. Megan Lowe went 18-for-23 on spikes with five kills and 10 points with one ace, four blocks and a kill.
    Olivia Brown had a spike and a kill to go along with eight points, one ace and 27 digs.
    Corrina Steed had six kills, six serves, seven points, one ace and 12 digs, while Christine Williams had two points and eight digs. Elsie Talkington finished 1-for-1 on spikes with a kill and went 2-for-3 on blocks with a kill.
    On Tuesday, against Zeigler-Royalton Burnett had 41 sets, five spikes and seven points, while Phillips went 9-for-11 on spikes with one kill and 13-for-14 on serves with 14 points and one ace.
    Lowe had 11 spikes, seven kills and went 13-for-14 on serves with 14 points and one ace. Brown was 2-for-6 on serves with four points and 23 digs and Steed had 17 spikes, six kills, eight points, one ace and 23 digs. Williams finished with three points and 14 digs and Talkington went 2-for-2 on spikes with two kills and one-for-one on blocks and a kill.
    The Eldorado junior varsity team also won at Zeigler-Royalton, beating the Tornado's 26-24 and 25-18.
    Carrier Mills knocks off Gallatin County
    The Carrier Mills volleyball team knocked off Gallatin County in straight sets Tuesday night, winning 25-12 and 25-23.
    In the game, Cassandra Arnold had 11 blocks and Megan Thomason had 16 points.
