James "Jody" Joseph Pinkston, age 78, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:17 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
James was born in Gallatin County to the late Oscar Thomas and Flora (Moorehead) Pinkston. On May 13, 1953, he married Willidean Hise and she survives. He was a coal miner, truck driver and worked in the steel mills up north. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Surviving family members include his wife, Willidean Pinkston of Harrisburg; three sons, Robert William (Donna) Pinkston of Harrisburg, Ronnie Dee (Kelly) Pinkston of Harrisburg and Joseph Carroll Pinkston of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Matthew William (Cassie) Pinkston of Harrisburg, Jason Dee Pinkston of Harrisburg, Jeremy (Randi) Pinkston of Marion, Holly (Ashton) Martin of Carrier Mills and Zara Pinkston of Harrisburg; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilma Dempsey of Alton; and several nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Pinkston; and two sisters, Martha Deen and Thelma Case.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Bro. Joe Colon will officiate.
