There is just one week remaining to buy tickets for the Taste of Home Cooking School Show on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Marion Civic Center.
Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased during office hours at six area newspapers: The Daily Republican, Marion; The Daily American, West Frankfort; The Daily Register, Harrisburg; the Murphysboro American; Benton Evening News; and Du Quoin Evening Call.
Over 300 Taste of Home Cooking School events attract up to 300,000 people annually across America. With cooking demonstrations by the Taste of Home team, attendees learn seasonal recipes for every holiday and occasion, and every skill level. These recipes were shared by people who cook at home as a way to bring family and friends together, and can be made with readily available ingredients. Also learn tips and tricks that will help you save time and make the most of your cooking experience.
Approximately 50 door prizes will be given away to attendees including materials for a bathroom make-over worth $1,500 from the Granite Group. Other door prizes include an embroidered chef's coat, baking stones from Emile Henry, a Santoku knife, a basket with over 14 different Mrs. Dash spices, a portable grill and much more.
There are a wide variety of local merchants and service providers participating including Rent One, Farmer's State Bank, Marion and Harrisburg, The Granite Group, Marion, and Dr. Alexander and Harrisburg Medical Center, all major sponsors. SI Medical Weight Loss Center of Marion is a featured sponsored.
