ELDORADO - Mike Henshaw, states attorney and Keith Brown, sheriff, know a little something about fighting crime.
On Friday, they will be fighting for a different cause.
The two are teaming up for the fourth annual golf tournament to benefit CASA of Saline County Friday at Saline County Golf and Country Club with a four-person, 18-hole scramble.
The Saline County States Attorney Mike Henshaw and Sheriff Keith Brown Fourth Annual Golf Tournament will begin Friday with two separate tee times. One will begin with at 8 a.m., with registration starting at 7 a.m. The other is an afternoon session that will go off at 1 p.m., with registration starting at 12 p.m.
Nina Brown, a spokesperson for the event, said that the response this year has been the best its ever been in the tournament's four year history.
"This is our major fundraiser for the year. We have other ones through the year, but this the one that brings in the most donations. It's a fun day."
All the monies raised from the tournament go back into the Saline County CASA, an operation that has been around for the past 12 years.
Court Appointed Special Advocate Association (CASA) is a nonprofit network supporting and promoting court appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent home.
Brown added that those interested in playing in the tournament or making a donation can still get involved.
"There are still available spaces for both the morning and afternoon to add teams if anyone would like to play," Brown said.
In addition to the tournament, both breakfast and lunch will be catered by local businesses, while the tournament itself features awards for first and second place, as well as, awards for the straightest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt and a hole in one contest.
