Frederick Ralph Feazel, 73, resident of McLeansboro, passed away at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, surrounded by his family.
Fred was born Oct. 23, 1938, in Harrisburg, to the late Ralph and Geneta (James) Feazel. Fred served in the United States Air Force for 20 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He later worked for 19 years as a dispatcher for the Harrisburg Police Department. He also worked security for Scott Lad and at the Coal Mines. Fred was a member of Calvary's Promise Church near Shawneetown. He was a trustee and Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, proclaiming his Christian faith, and, most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Keith) Feazel of McLeansboro; children, Fred (Tammy) Feazel Jr. of Rosiclare, David (Diane) Feazel of Cave-In-Rock, Debby (Mark) Sanders of Shawneetown; stepchildren, Ginger Watson of Harrisburg, Paula (Richard) Lentz of Idaho; siblings, Dean (Alice) Feazel of Eldorado, Burtis (Ora Rae) Feazel of Muddy, Barbara Sue (David) Anglin of Harrisburg, Judy (Donnie) Barrett of Michigan, Rita (Bill) French of Michigan; eight granddaughters; six stepgrandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Randall and Billy Feazel; a nephew, Randy Feazel; and a niece, Dawn Marie Barrett.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with Pastor Buddy Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Big Ridge Cemetery with military rites.Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at the funeral home.
