Towels, shampoo and soap are provided. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Shelters

First Baptist Church, 204 N. Main St. (618) 252-7491.

Food and water

Food is located at First Baptist Church, 204 N. Main St.; First United Methodist Church, 122 W. Poplar St.; Christian Community and Compassion Center at the corner of Virginia and Jackson streets (618) 252-3931 and the UMWA Food Pantry located at the SIC Foundation Building. Water is located throughout the damaged area.

We have volunteer labor to assist residents in meeting their needs. If you need help you may contact Operation Blessing at (618) 294-9400.

Supplies

SIC Foundation Building, 540 N. Commercial St./U.S. Route 45 North. Hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (618) 841-1533 or (618) 841-7868. East side of parking lot.

Portable restroom facilities

Portable restrooms are located throughout the damaged area.

Debris

Please sort debris -- limbs from trash. The city of Harrisburg will pick up yard debris, but not household garbage or building debris. Place limbs out by the curb. Limbs should be 10 to 15 feet long.

Household garbage such as spoiled food will be picked up by Bulldog Systems free of charge if it is double-bagged and placed by the curb.

Safety tips

Tetanus -- A tetanus vaccination is needed if not received in the last five years. You can be vaccinated within 48 hours of injury.

Chain saw -- Check controls, chain tension, bolts and handles before operating. Chain should always be sharp. Do not drop stop chain saw -- start on ground or on firm support. Do not attempt to fuel while running or while engine is still hot. Personal protective equipment should be worn at all times for hands, feet, legs, eyes, hearing and head. Gasoline powered chain saws must be equipped with a protective device to minimize kickback. Do not saw with tip to avoid kickback.

Hydration -- Please stay hydrated by drinking plenty of liquids.

Surroundings -- Always beware of your immediate surroundings while working to avoid unnecessary accidents.
