Obituary: Jaylynn Ferrell

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jaylynn Ferrell, 22, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at her residence as the result of a tornado.

She was born on Nov. 2, 1989, in Paducah, Ky., to Dennis Jay and Patty (Peters) Ferrell. Jaylynn was a registered nurse at Harrisburg Medical Center Special Care. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg where she taught Sunday school for 3-year-olds.

Surviving family members include her parents, Dennis and Patty Ferrell of Herod; brother, Austin Ferrell of Herod; paternal grandparents, Ann and Dennis Ferrell of Herod; maternal grandmother, Anita Peters of Herod; uncle, Roger Peters of Seattle, Wash.; two cousins, Kevin and Thomas Peters and their mother Kim of Belleville; and several great-aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her First Baptist Church family, especially her 3-year-old Sunday school class, nursing friends, and Pope County High School and Harrisburg High School friends.

She was preceded in death her maternal grandfather, Thomas Peters; great-grandparents, Marie and George Emmel, Wimpy and Florence Hombirg and Ralph and Audie Ferrell; and a special uncle, Gene Ferrell.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg. The Rev. Chris Winkleman and Joe Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg. Arrangements are in the charge of Reed Funeral Chapel, Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jaylynn Ferrell Scholarship Fund for Nursing Students.
